snag free hooks

just curious if anyone ever uses weedless/snagless hooks when swinging big heavy tube flies?
You hear if you are not getting snagged you arent deep enough, would this not help the problem?
A bunch of Japanese hook manufacturers make weedless/snagless suicide type hooks that are supposed to be used for 'wacky' rigging of soft stick baits.
Might mean you can happily swing through any pile of crap on the bottom and hook the fish that you would otherwise miss because your hooks are hanging up.
Just thinking out loud
Cheers

an example in the link below
http://www.texasbasstackle.com/scrip...?idproduct=777
these use a nylon snag guard so wouldnt be hard for fish to bite down on

ps. i realise some might say the weedless factor may mean missed fish,
wouldn't you rather keep being hit by fish and missing the odd actual bite than hooking the bottom?
Might also mean no more steelhead wearing a big ol fly as a piercing on the side of its head which is a plus isnt it?

Without using a weedless hook, for tube flies, and with junction tubing (pvc or silicone), you can simply place the hook in the junction tube point up, and this will reduce (but not eliminate) snagging on bottom structure.

Not all snagging of the fly (of whatever type) on bottom structure is due to the hook snagging, it may well be the tube, shank or fly itself getting jammed between rocks, and weedless hooks will make no difference in these situations
