thank you so much

Thank You Dan, i always complicate things when it comes to tying flies for any fish. I know allabout shad darts we have literally thousands of pounds of lead in the Delaware from fishing for these fish over the decades.
Thnx for sharing

Two handed rods are great for Shad on the left coast

Thanks for the great pictures.

My older son was a shad pioneer with the two handed rod on the Amercan River over 15 years ago with his Sage 9 weight brownie and Jim Vincent's first two handed line contribution.

When the water flow was reasonable, he often landed and released over 2 dozen Shad in an evening of shad fishing. On a weekend, we couldn't keep track of his total catch and release numbers.

He still uses his original Sage rod, Rio line and Abel reel for shad.

I use my two meat sticks, the ZA7110 if the water is high and our backs are in the brush. If I can make standard casts, my Death Star with Steve's SGS line borders on too much fun.

Rio's T-11 MOW tips enable me to go any depth where the fish may be with either rod. The MOWs make life a lot easier re having the right tip to get where any fish may be.

We lived in the DC area for about 6 years in the late 1960's. I fly fished for the SMB and had a great time. I was told that the Shad were trash fish, and I never fished for them. Now I know better.

One mans trash is another mans treasure.

I wish more people thought of them as a trash fish then I wouldn't have some many people in my favorite hole when I get to the river.
