Fly Shop Theifts

As many of you may remember from last year when I posted about a rash of fly shop theifts here in Colorado. The old shop I managed as well as the new shop I manage were both hit.

I wanted to post a follow up post to this because of the fact there is a new break in the case. I have attached an article from one of our local papers that was published yesterday. They caught one of them!

Cheers from Colorado,

Ty Clifton

Right on! Hopefully they can do pry the names of her accomplices out of her. I am still trying to figure out how they got the rods out the door. Down the pants or just walked out while the shopkeeper was looking the other way......

With any luck they will get the other names out of her. It was actually a pretty smart way they would do it. They would have the men talk to the shop employees and keep them busy with small purchases while the women would break down the rods and put them in their jackets.... I got hosed on the deal... As they were able to destract us while the women got out of the shop.

Thank you for the update. I still have that picture you posted in my shop. It is laying right on top of my Judge.

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

LD1, at the shop north they tried too. The had an armed officer in the shop hiding in the office. The crappy part is one of the guys saw him and they split before they had a chance to take anything and arrest them.

No problem Poppy, I will continue to post updates as it goes. I want to make sure that these bastards can't get anyone else.

I'll make sure to stop in and see you again the next time I am up on the Clearwater this fall.

Ty
