People still struggle to survive even today in the "developed" world.

I do not know about you, but I feel totally terrorized by the current conservative government. No day goes by, without them taking something away from us - pensions, wages, environment, employment insurance, education, you name it.

In terms of the Alberta oil sands, my opinion is they should not be developed.
Who put the whole Canadian economy in dependance of the oil and gas industry and mining?

Has it ever occurred to you that if oil disappears, our lives may actually improve? (or whoever is left to live after that)

Cougar,

Look carefully at post # 87. The quote you posted is actually form Klickrolf, not me.

only a fool would want to shut down the oil sands. It's operating them properly and sustainably that is the ultimate goal.

I realized that Alberta oil will be developed and may be has to. However, I am against uncontrolled rush.
The above 3 quotes would appear to me that the 3 posters at least agree on something, even this small point. Could the stars be aligning?

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB

I see that the children can't keep from acting up again. Can the ban button be far behind?

Dudes, chill out or this time it will be for good.

Unbelievable....IMO First nations play the biggest roll in the opposition to this atrocity.

So true. The "Walt Disney" version of peaceful nature-loving natives is a crock; they are whores to the almighty dollar as much as any people of any skin colour, and they are more than happy to sell their kids futures down the drain for the chance of driving a new pick-up truck. The oil companies have money to burn, and will throw money at groups until they shut up. Sad but true. When the salmon runs die after a massive pipeline rupture, the same native bands that took the bribe will be asking for more money. I say go eat your oil.

I hope you are wrong, but I meant Crooks=big oil which inundated press with false statements:
==========================================

“We have checked with all the First Nations on the pipeline route west of Prince George and only two First Nations have signed equity agreements,” says Sterritt, in response to Enbridge’s announcement earlier today. Sterritt says the numbers being bandied about by Enbridge are flawed.. “Enbridge expanded its pipeline corridor by 80 kilometers to increase its numbers. Many of these communities that have signed on are located outside of the areas that will be most impacted by a spill.”

As well Enbridge is including groups that either aren’t located on the pipeline corridor or don’t have land in British Columbia, Sterritt said. “We are absolutely mystified about the inclusion of the Metis in Enbridge’s 60 per cent. It’s ridiculous to include groups that don’t have Aboriginal Rights and Title to land within the pipeline corridor.”

Despite Enbridge’s comments to the contrary the Gitksan people have made it clear they don’t support the project, Sterritt says . “They have strongly rejected the agreement.”

You're an ass. He was calling enbridge crooks. Only an idiot would believe something like this. Go into a First Nations community and ask them what the most important thing is. You wouldn't have the balls to sit at a council meeting anyway.

Sorry sinktip, but this can't be allowed to stand. If speypages is going to become a haven for outright racist anti-first nation garbage like other 'sport oriented' outdoors forums, then go ahead and ban me because I want no part of it.

There is an unbroken wall of opposition to this project and it will stand the test of time.
