TFO Professional Series 12'6" 8wt
Anyone know anything about this rod?
Is it a good buy? How does it cast? Any fans of this rod out there? |

A buddy of mine picked one up used somewhere in the $125-$150 range. He is very happy with the rod considering the cost. He is using a 550 grain skagit on it and a 7/8/9 windcutter. He broke the rod tip on it this fall and TFO fixed it for $25.

I have this rod and it has been a good one for the little bit of time I have owned it. When I bought the rod it came with 2 lines. A 520 scandi and was suppose to be a 570 skagit. I got out the scale and weighed them. The scandi weighed 528 and the skagit weighed 600. I think a 600 grain skagit is a little to much for this rod. I have a airflo 510 on it now and this seems to do pretty good but I have only cast it for a hour or so fishing the other day.
If you can get it for $150 or less that would be a good deal. I use mine for catching stripers and catfish. Dan |
