I need help indentifing an individual and possible collector flies in his tying stuff

A couple of years ago I purchased two boxes of fly tying supplies in Spokane, WA. I got most of the spey /steelhead type supplies. In the bottom of one box there was an article from Flyfishing Jan-Feb 1993 written Frank W. Amato. The article is about Ken H. Smith and the fancy gold reel seats he made. It said his favorite rod was three piece Winston, made gold hooks and tied his own flies. It also referenced John Propp, owner of Propp's Rod and Fly shop at 137 Sherman Ave, Spokane. There was an envelope that had Ken's name on it with a card inside for a Gary Borger silver leach. So I am fairly confident that the tying supplies belonged to Mr. Smith.

In the box were a few flies and I would like some help identifying these.
- Gary Borger silver leach linited edition. It was not in the envelope but am fairly sure I have identified the correct one. If not the only other one would be the last fly in the pictures.
- Bird's nest nymph. It is in a plastic ziploc with a lot of detail. So appears to be more that an out of the bin fly.
- There are two cards signed by Alec Jackson, says at the top "personal signature" flies tied by Alec Jackson. There were two flies that are on a piece of paper and hand written it says " The Golden Butterfly LP Troherne" "19th Century" "Pattern Open George M. Kelson". I had a very knowledgeable Spokane fly tier look at these and he said he thought they were tied by Alec Jackson? (Dumb me I took them off for pics and not can not remember which is which?)
-Unidentified salmon/spey fly on a card and plastic wrapped -very well tied
-Unidentified steelhead fly - very well tied purple fly with a white wing
-Unidentified steel head fly2 - may have been his, not the quality of the others
-Lastly and unidentified minnow type pattern

Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to identify if any of these flies have any collector value. If not I may take a few out and see if I could hook up Mr. Smith one last time. Thank you for your help.

After reviewing your pictures I don't think there is much value. I don't think any of the flies where tied by Alec Jackson and I'm not sure about the Silver Leach being tied by Borger.

The reason why is the heads of the flies do not have the craftmanship of those tyers. The proportions are a bit off for tyers of their calber as well.

The card reads "J P Traherne" instead of LP Troherne, and the word "open" is really "as per". Traherne designed a very cool series of salmon flies, mostly using whole feather wings. Kelson was a leading tier of salmon flies in England in the late 1890's, publishing the book "The Salmon Fly" in about 1894. If you Google "Traherne golden butterfly", you'll find the pattern as follows:

TIPPETIWITCHET
TAG. - Silver twist and light blue silk the same colour as a light blue chatterer.
TAIL. - A topping.
BUTT. - Black herl.
BODY. - In five equal divisions, each terminating with a black herl butt. There are four tippets; two tied back to back in top and bottom of every section as illustrated over the golden floss which silk is the same shade as the golden toppings.
RIBBED. - Oval tinsel.
THROAT. - Blue chatterer feather.
WINGS. - five or six toppings, according to the size of the hook.
CHEEKS. - Blue chatterer.
HORNS. - Blue macaw.
HEAD. - Black herl.

THE GOLDEN BUTTERFLY (This is the Tippetiwitchet tweaked and renamed)
TAG. - Silver twist and light blue silk.
TAIL. - A topping.
BUTT. - Black herl.
BODY. - Light yellow silk. The body is divided into five sections, butted with a tippet feather above and below, on either side, slightly increasing in size and black herl.
RIBBED. - Fine silver twist.
WINGS. - Six toppings - more for large hooks, less for smaller.
HORNS. - Blue macaw.
HEAD. - Black herl.

There are others more experienced at salmon fly tying who know much more than I, but the first unidentified salmon fly appears to be a variant of the Blue Doctor (black herl butt substituted for red wool, jungle cock/kingfisher added as a cheek, and red wool omitted from the head). While there may be a few problems, it's pretty well tied IMO.

Thank you for the information. Did not really care about value much, but would have been nice to have a fly tied by one of the gentleman mentioned.
