Great stuff bro! Feather winged streamers are one of my favorite types of flies.

Fantastic streamers! You'll have great success with those ones!
What hooks are those? I really like the straight eye.

Have you ever visited the site "Vig's Big Flies?"
He's got a pile of streamers on his site. I used to use it for a reference for streamers. Although I haven't tied one in 6 years or so!

-rf

Thanks guys. These are fishing flies, so attention to detail was not my first goal when tying & as you can tell, not the traditional hooks used.
They are TMC 9394's. Really love the stout wire & gap.

Rob, I have been on that site before. He's got some real cool originals!
He also uses some real nice hackles for wings.
Really like rareandunusual's pattern dictionary as a reference also.

Any one have Tying Classic Freshwater Streamers by David Klausmeyer?
I have heard good things about this book & probably will purchase.

Lonewolve, These will be swung on the Saranac & Boquet rivers in the Adirondacks. I do hope to one day fish Maine though.

Hitcher

I have Klausmeyer's book and it is one the bunch of really great books out on tying various flies, this being streamers, i wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Bates book...http://books.google.com/books/about/...d=5iSOaYXslAgC
this is a really good book also the Carrie Stevens book...http://www.amazon.com/Carrie-Stevens.../dp/0811703533
These are also two of the best ,If i was a guy who wanted the info on streamers..these three would be the standard for all knowledge i would ever need or want.
BTW i hate Tiemco, but that hook looks great,i cant imagine if you had tied these on Martinek streamer hook or the Castle Arms Heritage Allcock rangeley hook.
I have neevr fished New York's Saranac or the other river but id sure as hell like to get up there.Landlocks are a lot of fun , i catch a few Atlantics out of Salmon river, and the Oak every year.I have to go to Maine to get my LandLock fix though.

Rick, thanks for the recommendations. I've got Bates' book, books & have my copy of Hyliard's in the mail. I think they did a reprint because they are $70 now. The one on amazon is 45!! I will definately look at Klausmeyer's book soon.

I like "casting" hooks for my streamers. Hardly troll anymore. TMCs 700, 765, daichii 2271.
Wondering if anyone uses the dai 2141 straight eye. Like the fact of the return eye which the 9394 is lacking.

Always wondered how the landlock fishing on the Salmon is or has been in august, before the salmon run. Have you ever?

Let me know if you ever do decide to fish the Saranac. I will assist you with whatever knowledge I have.
