I have never caught a steelhead and am looking to get into steelhead fishing. I am new to spey casting, having only caught a couple fish on the 2 handed rod.
I am looking for some go-to patterns for winter/summer/fall steelhead. A picture of your steelhead boxes would be awesome. Thanks Riley |

Here is a couple of ideas, but, my fly boxes are so secretive that I won't send you pictures of that! Or...I don't know how to post pictures on this site!
Summer: Just a few flies in #2's, #4's #6's, a couple of skaters and a few small #10 or so dark patterned comeback flies will get you going to chase Steelhead. I would say: ~Street Walker in #2, & #4 ~Steelhead Coachman in #6 & #8 ~Silver Hilton in #6 & #8 ~Blue Charm #10 as a comeback fly ~Natural and Purple Muddler Minnow patterns as skaters or wet flies ~Spey Skater and a couple Rusty Bombers Your summer will be set from dry skaters and wet flies to go out and have some fun chasing Steelhead. |
