rod and reel set up?

wanted to put a islander fr4 with a skagit line on it for my solstice 14"3' 7/8/9
as this reel is collecting dust. Would this be a good fit or is the reel too heavy thanks for all the imput. If this is to heavy ? any sugestions thanks will use in british columbia lower mainland mostly. Cheers

In my opinion that reel is to heavy for that rod. I have an FR4 for my 1510-5 T&T and it balances that rod nicely.

Some other reels that would be a better balance, Bougle 4", Salmon #2,
Bauer Superlite 6, Lightspeed 4 to name a few.

How you get the line out and fishing is personal preference so as long as it works and is easy no one should care but the caster. MSB
