I will say this in their defence .They HAD to wait for lower levels on the York .
The count is done by divers and they know when it's safe to descend/float the river .Counting is done by a Veder Root counter ( clicker) which they click off on one clicker for Salmon and the other for Grilse . On rivers that are not os clear as the York etc such as maybe/possibly/could-be the mata#$@%$ ,one in the know can wait for the end of the float and offer a Heineken to the divers afetr their hard work and get intel on where the fish is .One year we found out about a large pod of good sized Seatrout that way !
I'm one of the divers doing the count on the Bonnie this year, I drink very old single malt whiskey

:-)))))) That's a good deal .Would very detailed maps be provide ??
Would that any very old single malt whiskey make it any distance on the river if a certain heathen NYS crowd were there !
Good luck with the float ! At least there's NO log jams on the Bonnie .

A wealth of information and valued opinions believe me. New moon last night should have brought in some fresh fish. Water temps are good and the flow seems right also. A friend of mine is headed up Sunday and will be staying at Camp Bonaventure for three days of fishing. I hope everything comes together for him and his wife and they have a great trip. As for me it's still up in the air as to returning on Sunday. I could be making this trip alone, not a bad thing I guess.

I'm going out on Sat, the river has come up a bit, should be perfect levels by Sunday, I'll let you know, depends on where I get drawn I guess. I'm also bumming around Camp Bonaventure more than Glenn would like to get some info about hot spots. Salar still seems to be much more shy than last year.

Salmon around great levels

Sorry for the delay, been busy on vacay. Hooked and released one on the Grande, probably 15lbs, two more on the Bonnie on Tuesday. Great down pour, fish were moving around, love it... Oh yeah got the on on the Cascapedia with a little brown bomber that I casted with my 13.5 foot Zpey, I was too lazy to go fetch my switch, second cast... wasnt pretty but it worked...
