Fly on the river pic
Just thought I'd share a fly I tied last year and fished this week...no grabs but thought it looked nicer on the river than in my vise.
![]() ![]() Hope to hook something on it soon, Adrian

Adrian the fly looks amazing
Can't believe it didn't get a grab for you .... probably no fish in the river , it's not the fly's fault Great pics !! The fly looks "at home" on the river ... super sexy little GB Skunk Dee dude ..... schweeeeet !!! Mike

Lovely tie. Too bad you didn't get any grabs. Beautiful photo, but it makes me anxious to swing a few flies on that river. I should be there next weekend, though.
Is that fly tied on a Daiichi 2151? I like the idea of a strait eye steelhead hook and it's a hook I like in the vise, but I have yet to tie a fly on one that I like the look of enough to actually pull out of my box and tie on the end of my line. Maybe if I tied a GB skunk as nice as that my feelings would change.

This tie was one of the first I learned; an almost identical version landed me a bright 30 lb class king in Michigan. I used a silver hook to let the rear floss glow a bit more. It got pounded...hard. Great fly.
Nice photo, too! |

Damn Adrian! I really like these pictures.
They give me the warm feeling that all is well in one at least one small part of the world. I think the first one would be awesome over your tying bench. Serious day dream material in the off-season. Thanks for sharing. Too bad there were no hookups. Certainly not the fault of that deadly fly! regards, -Rob |

Thanks fellows. One gets all dreamy and romantic tying these flies and ends up on a river full of steelhead lore only to find out that he gets no steelhead love...oh well, there's plenty more fish in the "sea"... (wish they'd just swim up the river on my schedule instead of theirs
.)Pete, I believe you have ID'd the correct hook, I threw the package label away... Adrian
