Coming up this Sunday, August 22 on the Kennedy Creek Trail between Olympia and Shelton. 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. $35 per person for music, appetizers, seafood, desserts and beverages. Sponsored by the South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group.

Funds are used to support a one of a kind outdoor classroom for kids of all ages. Each year over 5,000 students and numerous community members visit the trail to learn about salmon life-cycle and this critical habitat that supports salmon.

I have attended the last three years and the food is great, the atmosphere is delightful and the cause significant to salmon. If you are unable to attend but would like to support their efforts memberships are $20 per year for individual, $30 for family. 2010 Success: Deerfield River Spey Day was a huge 2nd year success as Reel Recovery was able to take away over $5000.00 from auctions, raffles and Reel Recovery clothing and misc. donations. Thank you to the gathering of the forty to fifty very generous supporters and the handful of helpers for making this event a success. With the help of friends, Walt is planning on working closely again with Reel Recovery and working towards creating a first ever Massachusetts / Northeast Cancer Retreat.
